The Mendel Pass is a 1362 meter high mountain pass in Italy, between the provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol.
The pass road leads to the pass, which begins in the town of Fondo in the Non Valley and ends southwest of the town of Bolzano, and the Mendel cable car, which connects the Überetsch plateau with the pass.
The SS 42 pass is up to 12%, but relatively straight.
It is open all year round, but the use of trailers is prohibited. The instability of the rocks that cross the road, which stabilized in 2005, is a cause for concern.
The pass is under constant observation, especially in spring, when melting and re-freezing pose a risk of slipping. (Source: Wikipedia)
