The Col de Herrenberg pass at an altitude of 1191 m connects the Thur Valley with the upper valley of the Fecht.
It is located between Batteriekopf in the north and Schweisel in the south. The Route des Crêtes (D 430) runs a few meters down the west side. Crossing point of GR 5 hiking trail. The Great Hiking Trail 5 (GR 5) is a 2,200 km long hiking trail connecting the North and the Mediterranean. From north to south, it passes through the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, where it crosses the Vosges and the Jura, where it crosses the edge of Lake Geneva, and then again France through the Alps to the Mediterranean.
